This project is designed to help individuals better understand legislation being considered in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. Our mission is to use technology to unbiasedly amplify the voice of the people, without influence, agenda, or commercial interest.

We value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the limited circumstances under which we may disclose it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information strictly for the purpose of maintaining the integrity of the experiment:

  • Email Address: Used only to confirm participation and prevent duplicate submissions.
  • Knowledge Responses: Answers to knowledge questions that help ensure users are providing informed input.
  • Minimal Payment Information: We ask for a $1.01 contribution to help offset development costs and deter fraudulent responses. Payments are handled by a secure third-party processor (e.g., Stripe, PayPal) and we do not store or access your payment details.

We do not collect or retain:

  • IP addresses
  • Device identifiers
  • Cookies for tracking
  • Personally identifiable information beyond your submitted email

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Verifying unique, informed participation
  • Preventing fraud and duplicate responses
  • Aggregating and presenting data about public opinion on proposed legislation

We do not:

  • Use your data for advertising
  • Sell or share your data with third parties
  • Use your data to target or track you

3. Data Retention and Deletion

Once this phase of the experiment concludes, all email addresses and any identifiers will be permanently deleted.

Should we run future iterations of this project on new legislation, a new opt-in will be required. No contact will be made using previous email addresses.

4. Data Security

We implement standard security practices to safeguard your information during the short period it is stored. This includes encrypted communication (HTTPS) and secure storage methods.

5. Children's Privacy

This project is intended for individuals 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

6. Future Projects

Depending on the outcomes of this experiment, we may explore future non-partisan projects. If so, we will clearly communicate any changes to this privacy policy or request new consent for participation.
